If I were to take a camera and snap photographs of …. Her gestures, her clothing, her expression, the place she sits, would forever be etched in time. These pictures could be passed on from generation to generation to give it an “almost” eternal existence. It creates a defining moment Facts that create a defining moment through your giving 1. Jesus is looking at the gifts that we bring into his temple- vs 1. He is interested.What I give creates a memorial before Him. Every time I give I create a defining moment – a moment etched in time that can’t be changed 2. He knows whether our giving touches us – is it a sacrificial offering? Does it touch you does it touch the father? This morning we celebrate resurrection Sunday. The father’s giving of His Son Jesus created a defining moment - forever etched in eternity. 3. You are forever remembered by your giving- how do I know. Because we are still talking about this widow. – Acts 10 Cornelius, woman with the alabaster box who poured that expensive ointment on Jesus’ head Our giving creates an eternal picture! From time to time we are in the habit of pulling out our photo albums- looking at those defining moments in our lives. Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry.
